Project Manu - Mangaokewa Reserve

Project manu is a community restoration initiatuve at Mangaokewa Reserve near Te Kuiti.

Location

Approximately 3 km south of Te Kuiti on SH 30.

Area

The Mangaokewa Reserve is approximately 200 ha of native hardwood forest.

Organisations involved

Project Manu is a community volunteer project, supported by DOC and Waitomo District Council.

Access

Public access to the reserve is from SH 30, under the Waiteti Viaduct. A swing bridge crosses the Mangaokewa River from the picnic area to the reserve.
